Of the popular dental marketing tactics, the level of effectiveness seems to have a common theme. Hitting the right audience at the right time.
I think that’s why SEO has become such a huge boon in dental marketing. You’re only showcasing your practice at the exact moment a prospective patient is actively searching for a dentist.
Some dentists wonder how their $10k mailer campaign could possibly not work. Or that $5k full page newspaper ad for the local weekly paper. Or how that radio ad which reached so many, fell on deaf ears.
The answer is timing. You can’t control other people’s schedule, but you can control what you do. If you’re canvassing, consistency is key. It’s better to be present more of the time, over a long period of time, than to be bombarding for a short period of time.
This is true of both branding, and relationship building. You wouldn’t call a friend 1000 times in one day, then ignore them for 5 years, would you? Your prospective patients are a smaller order of relationship building. Be there when they need you, not when you need them.
To swap roles, this post might find you at a good time. It might strike you to comment, email me, ask for a complimentary seo analysis or take some other action. But it might be the right message, get a head nod, and then you move on with your day. Your prospective patients are the same way.
Timing. It’s everything.
